Furlough Scheme Limits

From July no new members of staff can be furloughed and until the end of June the minimum amount of time to furlough is three weeks. Therefore if businesses want to furlough staff after July who haven’t been furloughed before, then those staff will need to be furloughed on or before June 10th for three weeks, otherwise they will not be eligible after July. Harogate Council publishes details of its Discretionary Grant Scheme

Eligible businesses and charities in Harrogate district will shortly be able to apply for grants of up to £10,000. The grant funding is open to a limited number of smaller businesses. More details are available at the Council’s website HERE

Update from the Small Business Commissioner on late payment support

Small businesses are asking for help to resolve disputes over delayed or non-payment of invoices. The Small Business Commissioner has helped small businesses recover over £7.2 million between December 2019 and May 2020.

Travellers exempt from English border rules

The Government has updated its guidance to add information on what those exempted will need to show at the border to enter the UK. This guidance includes drivers of goods vehicles. The guidance can be viewed HERE.

Trade Credit Insurance backed by guarantee

The Government is to provide guarantees of up to £10 billion to Trade Credit Insurance schemes for business to business transactions. Details HERE.
