The Ministry of Defence (MOD) are visiting the Yorkshire Region to engage with small and
medium sized businesses. This event will describe the many procurement opportunities available and how to become part of the supply chain of the MOD.
The MOD spends approximately £14 billion a year procuring a wide variety of products and services to support the Armed Forces, both on operations and in peace time. In addition to complex military equipment requiring highly specialist suppliers an
d leading edge technology, the MOD also procures more ordinary ‘commodity’ items including:
Food for ration packs | Estate & facilities management | Stationery | Medical Supplies |
Fuels and utilities | Clothing | Furniture | Consultancy Services |
The MOD has a requirement for most types of product, either directly or indirectly, at some stage. Since 1st January 2016, the MOD has required their suppliers to have a Cyber Essentials certificate. MASS will help you to understand what these requirements are.
Less than 25% of SME’s actively export goods and services. DIT DSO will provide information on the current defence exporting opportunities and the support available for UK companies.
NDI is a membership supply chain and business development organisation. NDI will explain how it works with companies to match and source business opportunities and facilitate introductions.
