PolyGlobal have been awarded the Insider Made in Yorkshire Collaboration Award in recognition of their partnership with Bradford University’s Polymer Interdisciplinary Research facility.
The Wakefield based manufacturer of injection and cast moulded components is working with the university to test the mechanical performance and integrity of its core range of materials. The partnership has also helped facilitate the launch of Hyperpol, a range of high-performance polyurethane elastomers.
Utilising the world leading facilities, equipment and knowledge of Bradford University’s Polymer Research Centre, PolyGlobal are creating simulated environments reflecting those experienced in the sectors and industries it supplies to. PolyGlobal are testing the materials performance under varying extreme conditions including temperature, pressure, abrasion and chemical exposure.
The aim of the testing is to identify and verify the suitability of specific materials for use in specific environments. This testing will also establish reasons for the failure of materials.
The results of these tests enable PolyGlobal to advise and recommend specific materials to customers from an increased technical and performance perspective as well as publish credible data that can be accessed by wider market sectors.
The Insider’s Made in Yorkshire Awards honoured manufacturers from across the Yorkshire region. The awards ceremony took place on Thursday 7th March at the Hilton Leeds City Hotel. Winners from the Made in Yorkshire awards are invited to attend the Made in UK Awards on Thursday 20th June at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
