Effective management of health and safety risks in the workplace benefits everyone involved. It is good for business, good for workers and good for society as a whole. Particularly in the case of less visible dangers, taking care of workers’ safety and health may be seen as a burden. This applies especially to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), where resources are limited. However, organisations that do more to protect their workers than is required of them by legislation reap the benefits. Active, participatory safety and health management, which involves workers and has strong commitment from management, makes a business more competitive — for example by reducing sickness absence and improving productivity.
Join the Enterprise Europe Network and the Bradford Area Occupational Health and Safety Forum (BAOHSF) for their annual joint event on Wednesday, 23 October 2019. Their goal is to challenge common misconceptions, raise awareness of the risks and disseminate good practice and resources for effective management of dangerous substances in the workplace.
Organisations of all sizes and sectors, public or private, are welcome to join in for inspirational case studies from the private and public sector, sharing good practice and facts & figures from national bodies.
