We all complain about skill shortages and know how difficult it is to attract younger employees into manufacturing. We’ve all heard the age-old comments about manufacturing being old-fashioned, dirty and having no career prospects. Some people have even questioned if there actually is any manufacturing in Airedale and Bradford!
The Chamber of Commerce, Bradford & Airedale Manufacturing Alliance and local manufacturers have decided to change these attitudes by staging Bradford Manufacturing Week 2018 in October. This involves a series of events aimed at showing 14 – 18 year olds, their parents, teachers and the world in general, just how exciting, vibrant, and varied, modern manufacturing is.
If you or your company want to get involved in raising the profile of manufacturing to future employees and the public, please have a look at the attached information sheet and come along to the briefing event.

Please pass on this information to any of your manufacturing contacts who may be interested – help us spread the word.
Come if you can, it would be great to shout out load about manufacturing in Bradford and Airedale.
